Ruto?!? Dude, are you people even for real? She's a damn fish. Cute enough, I guess, but jeepers. I mean, she's got extra eyes poking out the side of her head. Figure she's probably all cold-blooded and scaly, too. As well be attracted to the Creature from the Black Lagoon.

If I had to choose someone, it'd probably be Nabooru. She's hot stuff.

Yeah, but whales and dolphins are lame. Maybe if SeaWorld had good animals, like elephants and giraffes and stuff. Or maybe if, instead of a regular whale, they had a robot whale. Maybe a couple of zombie dolphins, too. Zombolphins. Heh. That'd be rock-solid. I probably had something of substance to say back when I first started this post, but I've forgotten it. Still, at least we got zombolphins out of it.

Psssh. If you want to convince me that dolphins aren't lame, you'd do well not to associate them with that paragon of lameness MacGuyver. Compare: I commonly refer to elephants (damn fine animals by any standard) as 'the Hill Street Blues of the savannah'. Perhaps if you associated dolphins in a like fashion with 'The Avengers', 'The Rat Patrol', or 'The Dukes of Hazzard', I'd be more apt to take them seriously.

Don't any of you remember the awesome sluts from Zelda II?

"I can give you magic..." she says, inviting you into her home.

"Do you like that? It's my special medicine." Wink wink, nudge nudge.

All right, no. No. On the one hand, we have MacGuyver, who uses a Swiss Army knife and some admittedly impressive technical ingenuity in order to achieve his ends. On the other hand, we have the Rat Patrol, who use dune buggies armed with machine guns to combat the Axis powers in North Africa. MacGuyver can't compete.

Good question, should I post a doujin containing the answer.

Aren't fish scales, like... sharp? Especially the small ones? How would you like to deal with that? Especially if she made you do it in salt water.

And don't forget, we've never seen the inside of Ruto's mouth. For all we know, she could have rows upon rows of razor, shark-like teeth!

Dudes, fish don't even have sex. Female fish lay unfertilised eggs, and then males come along and fertilise them. We've seen that Zora lay eggs, and they don't appear to have external genitalia; odds are even they're anatomically incapable of having sex. (I'm sure some of you are wondering, of course, why Ruto was so flirty with Link if her people don't have sex. The answer is simple--she's a moron.)

Even with all that, there's still the comfort issue. Never mind the scales, or the whole 'underwater' deal; she's cold-blooded, yo. Have you ever tried walking around with a gallon of milk or a beer that's been on ice? I find myself having to switch it from hand to hand just because the temperature is uncomfortable. Now imagine putting your junk in just such a situation; granted, I've never tried it, but I imagine it's an eldritch horror to rival anything dreamt up by Lovecraft.

Based on my thoroughly compleat knowledges

Is it revealed in canon that Zora are cold-blooded? Just because they appear to be fish doesn't mean that they share the trait. There are warm-blooded sea mammals; hell, even some fish (e.g. Tuna) can raise their body temperature. In order to support a modicum of intelligence and activity, warm-bloodedness is practically required. Scales can be modified keratin plates modified from hair follicles, or merely symbolic in nature (i.e. the Silver Scale is just taken from some other actual fish).

As for the sex part, well, there's more than one way to skin a... *ahem* cat. External gentalia can be hidden in animals, like how you never see a snake or dolphin's (and probably Nintendo just didn't want to out and out show it).

I'm curious, though. Where did they reveal they lay eggs?

I'm not surprised you don't remember; God knows I've done my level best to repress my own memories of that piece of crap MM. But I digress--it's all in the Great Bay part. Some Zora chick had her brood of eggs swiped [strike]during a daring daylight heist carried out by black suit-wearing armed robbers--however, the police responded much too quickly; the bandits had to shoot their way out, losing two in the process. Once they made it back to the rendezvous point, the surviving robbers realised there was a rat on the job, and set about trying to figure out just who it could be[/strike] by pirates. After you get them back, they teach you a song or something. My memories are a little sketchy--it's been a few years.

Technicality

I haven't played MM; to be honest I couldn't get over the first few hurdles without being captivated. :p

Anyways, the laying of eggs does not obviate the need for internal fertilization, much like how sharks and monotremes still do the Dew. Irregardless, the mechanics of creating viable offspring isn't really what hotness is about anyways.

As do birds. The point is, the overarching majority of fish (like 99.9% of them) don't have sex.

You're the one who brought it up--your one post read "Ruto. Secks. Discuss,", not "Ruto. Hawt. Discuss," (or whatever the crap).

Well, Booyawzer has a point. How could you have sex with a creature which has no visible genitalia?

Granted. But, I'd also like to rebut with the fact that 100% of fish don't walk around, build a monarchy government, and play fish guitars.

And to Val: it's all in the fins. Smexy.

I haven't really played many Legend of Zelda games, but from what the internet has shown me, Link is the most attractive woman ever.

Cute, quiet, and from Asia.
EDIT: Nevermind.
I imagine it either had something to do with the way this thread is going, or what I said about Lilac.

Ya know, now that I think about it, remember the rich guy's daughter in Wind Waker? The one you have to stop from stealing from the Eskimo? She's pretty damn cute, even when she's dressed in rags.
